My story
About me
Hi everyone!
I'm Ange Hong Lan, a Chef with a crazy love for culinary art and an overflowing desire to share it with the world!
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, I arrived in France at the age of 4. After studying at the Belliard Hotel School in Paris, I dove into the whirlwind of Parisian cuisine, working in renowned brasseries, and then set sail for Avenue George V to take part in the adventure of the ASIAN Restaurant.
Since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, I've always had a passion for cooking. At 6, I already cooked my first rice, and at 8, I was slicing like a pro! During my Cook-trotter escapades, I explored a universe of flavors, techniques, and incredible ingredients unique to every corner of the globe.
From Singapore to Beirut, through culinary cities like Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Moscow, Geneva, and Barcelona, each stop has enriched my palate and expanded my culinary horizons.
And thus was born 'Aname,' the first Vietnamese Bistro in Paris, where I reinterpret the classics of my ancestors with my personal touch, with a creed: to banish MSG and promote a healthy and balanced diet.
In Spain, I started giving cooking classes, a passion that I continued in France. I naively believed that the French already knew Vietnamese cuisine, but I quickly realized it was misunderstood. So, I took matters into my own hands to share my culinary culture and correct misunderstandings around dishes like 'hot Bobun' or 'Bobun with Nems.'
For me, cooking is much more than just meals. It's an art that allows us to share emotions, memories, and cultures. I am committed to promoting conscious eating where the pleasure of eating goes hand in hand with the well-being of our bodies.
In the end, I'm not just a Chef, I'm a passionate individual who simply wants to share her love for cooking with all of you! 🍲✨
